Modders were apparently a big part of the Call of Juarez 2 and Dead Island community, and Techland want to get that going again with Dying Light. Today, Techland have announced that they’re working on “free and extensive modding tools” for the game, because Dying Light is “perfect material for modding.” A follow-up patch from Techland then made it harder to adjust certain aspects of the game (weapon data and zombie stats), ostensibly to prevent people from cheating in the game’s competitive Be the Zombie mode. Honest.Ī few days ago, some harmless, film-grain removal mods got hit with DMCA claims from Warner Bros.

Dying Light devs Techland are still trying to claw back some love after the DMCA stuff, and they really want you to mod their game.
